Who will Jake Paul fight next? Potential opponents for rising boxing star

Jake Paul, a YouTuber who has transitioned into professional boxing, has left the world in anticipation after his victory over former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in an eight-round unanimous decision. The question on everyone's mind is, who will be his next opponent in the ring?

The Paul-Tyson event, streamed on Netflix, attracted over 108 million live viewers worldwide and has sparked intense debate. While some people question the legitimacy of the fight, others defend the performances of the fighters. In response to these concerns, Most Valuable Promotions, which is co-owned by Paul, addressed the issue with a statement, assuring fans that the event was not rigged.

"Both fighters in good faith performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight," the Most Valuable Promotions statement read.

Paul, who claims to be serious about his boxing career, has set his sights on facing top opponents. His ambition includes a potential bout with the Mexican boxing star Canelo Alvarez, a match that could redefine his career.

On the other hand, Canelo has expressed his focus on fighting world-class opponents but has not dismissed the possibility of a bout with Paul once he reaches the end of his career.

Several potential opponents have taken to social media to challenge Paul, adding an element of unpredictability to his future fights.

When will Jake Paul fight next?

The latest high-profile athlete to call out Paul is Claressa Shields, one of the most decorated women in boxing history.

"Those who oppose this are simply sexist and lack an understanding of boxing," Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist with a professional record of 15-0, told USA TODAY Sports. "It's quite strange to me that they believe a YouTuber could defeat a woman boxer who has achieved two Olympic gold medals, multiple world titles, and has competed as a heavyweight."

Regardless, it is still uncertain when the former YouTuber turned boxer will step into the ring, or who his opponent will be. However, this hasn’t stopped Paul from using social media to provoke potential future opponents and respond to others who have called him out.

After his fight with Tyson, Paul called out several high-profile names right after his November bout, including Conor McGregor, which added some fuel to the fire with an MMA angle.

Conor McGregor has since responded on "X."
