Jake DeBrusk Reveals Moment He Knew Bruins Tenure Was Done

DeBrusk spent the first seven years of his career as a Bruin after being selected 14th overall by the club during the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Thus, returning to TD Garden as an opponent will undoubtedly be emotional.
While speaking to reporters ahead of this upcoming matchup, DeBrusk revealed he knew his time as a Boston Bruin was over after the Original Six club was knocked out by the Florida Panthers in Game 6 last spring.
Here is what No. 74 said on the matter:
"I didn't want to believe it, really, but it was probably when we lost. I knew it was over at that point. I didn't know for sure, but I just thought they wouldn't do anything different, which they didn't really. At that point with the decision, you move on, right? But it was tough. It's tough always with losses, but that one was one where I knew inside."
DeBrusk certainly ended his Bruins tenure on a high note, as he was their best forward during the playoffs. In 13 post-season games, he led the teams with five goals and 11 points.
The Bruins have missed DeBrusk this season, as they did not find a proper top-six winger to replace him, and their offense has struggled immensely. Meanwhile, DeBrusk currently has five goals, 13 points, and a plus-4 rating in 19 games this season with Vancouver.
