J.T. Miller Trade Discussions Will Reportedly Take Time But Still Going On

With the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks reported trade proposal for J.T. Miller off the table, what exactly is going on now?

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers and Canucks were progressing in trade talks regarding Miller before everything ultimately fell through.

Miller still finds himself in Vancouver, but that doesn't mean the Canucks are still not exploring the trade market.

“Don’t expect hour-by-hour updates on Miller,” Rick Dhaliwal of The Athletic said. “This is a process, it’s going to take time, but they are still talking to teams. Just because the Rangers and Canucks talks broke down doesn't mean that the Canucks just stop trying to move Miller and it’s over.

“This is still very real and they are still making phone calls, there are still teams in the mix, we are still hearing names. It hasn’t stopped.”

Friedman made clear over the weekend that the original trade discussed by the Rangers and Canucks is off the table for whatever reason while not emphasizing if the two teams are still engaged in discussions.

Miller reportedly prefers to be traded to the East coast according to Friedman. However, there are conflicting reports on whether or not Miller specifically requested a trade.
