J.T. Miller Sweepstakes Could Go Down To Bidding War Between Rangers And Hurricanes

It’s been multiple days since the New York Rangers’ reported deal with the Vancouver Canucks fell through for J.T. Miller and the veteran forward still is yet to be traded.

Miller reportedly has his preferences on where he would like to end up if a trade were to take place as it could all come down to the Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes.

“There is more out there than we are seeing, there’s always things we miss,” Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said. “I believe the preference is Eastern United States for Miller. From what I’ve heard, the Canucks kind of know that is the preference.

“I think Carolina is around there, I think the Rangers are still around there, they are not out. I’m less convinced about New Jersey, I’m less convinced about Dallas… I do think the Canucks are acting under the impression that it’s Eastern United States.”

You would think that the Rangers are in the driver's seat given the fact that talks were progressing between the two teams, but things could change very quickly, so who knows at this point.

Miller has a full no-move clause, allowing him to dictate his future and where he ultimately ends up.

No public trade requests were made by Miller or his agent, but Friedman believes that the Canucks are eager to get a trade done due to all the outside noise circulating around the organization.
