Italy Star Hailed For Creative Masterclass In Inter Milan Vs Venezia Serie A Clash
Federico Dimarco has won praise for his outstanding creative display in Inter Milan’s Serie A win over Venezia yesterday evening.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, name the 26-year-old as the Nerazzurri’s outstanding player along with Yann Sommer.
Dimarco lined up on the left side of Inter’s 3-5-2 shape yesterday evening.
The Italian international has started each of the Nerazzurri’s last three matches. This has been partly the result of an injury to Carlos Augusto, his main backup in the squad.
Therefore, there would naturally be a certain risk of tiredness from Dimarco.
But if there was any of that from the 26-year-old, it was not evident in his performance.
Federico Dimarco Hailed For Creative Display In Inter Serie A Win Vs Venezia
Dimarco was Inter’s biggest outlet throughout yesterday evening.
And as has become customary from the Italian international, he was not only getting on the ball in wide areas.
Dimarco was also a player who would drift around to orchestrate Inter’s counterattacks.
And in that respect, it was a very eye-catching display from the 26-year-old.
There were multiple good passes and crosses from Dimarco.
But one in particular was decisive. Dimarco put in a cross for Inter captain Lautaro Martinez that was nothing short of inch-perfect.
The Inter wingback’s ball in had plenty of pace on it, but dipped right into the penalty area for Martinez to meet it.
The Inter captain did not have too much work to do in guiding the ball past Venezia keeper Filip Stankovic.
Meanwhile, Dimarco also thought he’d set up Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Inter’s opener not too long before that.
The goal did not stand. Dimarco had been narrowly offside in the buildup to it.
But nevertheless, the 26-year-old’s run and cross were certainly excellent, in a night when his talents were on full display.
