Following Saturday’s early exit from EURO 2024, Italy will return to action at the beginning of September for Nations League fixtures against France and Israel.

When do Italy play next?

Luciano Spalletti and the team’s next engagement will come away against France at the Parc des Princes in Paris on September 6, with kick-off currently scheduled for 19.45 BST. They will then face Israel ‘away’ in Hungary three days later, at the same time on September 9.

Italy are in a Nations League group with the aforementioned France and Israel, plus Belgium, who will face the Azzurri in October, although the venue has not yet been confirmed.

There are three international breaks scheduled between September and Christmas, which means that all six Nations League group fixtures will be completed before the festive period.

There are 16 teams involved in the Nations League ‘A’ division along with Italy, split into four groups of four teams.

The winners and runners-up from each group will progress to a two-legged semi-final played home and away in March 2025.

The four winners from those ties will progress to the Nations League finals stage, which consists of its own mini-knockouts. There will be a semi-final, final and third-place play-off, currently scheduled for June 2025.
