Italiano wants Biraghi reunion as Lykogiannis given clearance for Bologna departure
Vincenzo Italiano is reportedly pushing Bologna to sign Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi in the January transfer window as a replacement for Charalampos Lykogiannis, who is reportedly close to leaving the Rossoblu in the coming weeks.
Italiano wants Biraghi reunion at Bologna
According to reports from multiple outlets in Italy including Sky Sport Italia, Lykogiannis could be sold during the January transfer window, which would leave Bologna in need of a left-back to compete and rotate with Juan Miranda.
Head coach Vincenzo Italiano already has his ideal replacement in mind, though, as Biraghi is expected to be made available at a low-cost price this window.
The Fiorentina full-back’s contract is due to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, and is currently free to negotiate with whichever team he pleases ahead of a possible move on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
However, Sky suggest that he could leave before the end of the campaign on a cut-price deal.
Biraghi has played just eight times so far in 2024-25, and it is understood that Fiorentina would not stand in his way should a suitable offer come in during the January transfer window.
