In recent days, Como emerged as the latest Serie A club to be linked with Marcus Rashford, with their head coach Cesc Fabregas reportedly keen to bring in the Manchester United striker.

The England international is currently being associated with at least a dozen clubs, as his Old Trafford departure has become inevitable, as Gary Neville puts it.

The 27-year-old fell out of favour with his new boss Ruben Amorim who dropped him from the squad for four matches in a row. Despite being recalled for the final contest of 2024 against Newcastle United, he remained on the bench as an unused substitute, before missing last weekend’s trip to Anfield Road due to a reported illness.

Nevertheless, Rashford’s next destination remains anyone’s guess at this point. While links with some of the biggest clubs in Europe were hardly surprising, Como surely weren’t on anyone’s radar. And yet the new Serie A boys do not lack ambition, as portrayed by some of their recent acquisitions, including the likes of Sergi Roberto, and Nico Paz, as well as their interest in Dele Alli.

Cesc Fabregas doesn’t stand a chance at landing Marcus Rashford

However, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla quashes Como’s hopes of landing the Man Utd star, labelling it as ‘pure fiction’.

On the other hand, the transfer market insider reckons that Milan continue to work on luring the England international to San Siro. The club’s officials have recently met the player’s brother, and while they have yet to find an agreement, the talks between the two parties are expected to resume.

Moreover, Juventus is another Serie A giant who might have the means to snap up Rashford’s services, reveals Pedulla. However, the Bianconeri’s current priority target is PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani (who is also on Man Utd’s shortlist), while Rashford’s teammate Joshua Zirkzee is second on Juve’s wishlist.
