Italian Journalist Amazed By Inter Milan vs Juventus Derby d’Italia Spectacle: “Match From Another Galaxy”
Italian journalist Riccardo Trevisani has delivered his verdict on Sunday’s memorable Derby d’Italia draw between Inter Milan and Juventus.
During his latest interview with Trevi Fountain, as reported by FCInterNews, Trevisani labeled one of the most exciting Serie A fixtures in recent memory as a ‘match from another galaxy.’
Recent meetings between Inter and Juventus have notoriously lacked action.
Indeed, eight of their nine league encounters ahead of Sunday had featured two or fewer goals.
However, the arch-rivals defied that tradition, throwing a spectacle at Giuseppe Meazza.
Juventus hauled back a two-goal deficit down the final stretch to hold Inter to a goal-glutted 4-4 draw.
Despite extending their unbeaten run against the Bianconeri to five games, Simone Inzaghi’s lads dropped two massive points.
But for neutrals, including Trevisani, it was a treat. It was a historic game by all means.
Italian Journalist Riccardo Trevisani Delivers Verdict on Stunning Draw Between Inter Milan & Juventus
“Yesterday, we saw a distance between Inter and Juventus and our league,” Trevisani stated.
“We saw a match from another galaxy with a different rhythm and intensity.
“When you expose yourself, you make mistakes and concede goals.
“There were some ugly moments from both defenses, but this game will be talked about for 30 years.
“No one cares about 0-0 draws. Let’s focus on the positives; it’s a potential turning point for our football.
“International websites had Serie A in the spotlight, which doesn’t usually happen.
“Maybe a 4-4 is too much, but we need that intensity and determination.”
Trevisani also reflected on the substitutions made by the coaches.
“It’s not always action-reaction,” he continued.
“Thiago Motta, whom I adore, made a wrong substitution between Vlahovic and Mbangula. It still ended 4-4.
“Of course, the coach influences the game.
“But saying it ended in a draw because Bisseck isn’t Pavard seems like complete nonsense to me,” Trevisani concluded.
