Islanders Prospect Danny Nelson's Comments Right After Winning Gold Medal At 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships
New York Islanders prospect Danny Nelson (2023, No. 49) had himself a fantastic 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships en route to his second straight gold medal with Team USA.
He wore an "A," skating on the team's second line but was trusted enough to play on both special teams, being thrown out there by head coach David Carle for key face-offs, too.
After just one goal and one assist in seven games at the 2024 IIHF WJC, Nelson potted four goals with two assists for six points in seven games this time around.
My pal, Russ Cohen of NHLDraftBuzz.com was part of Nelson's postgame scrum following USA's overtime win over Finland.
"I felt like, overall, my tournament was good," Nelson said. "My game as a whole, I feel really good about it, and I'm excited to go back to college carrying that momentum."
