Islanders Activate Simon Holmstrom Off Injured Reserve Ahead Of Game vs. San Jose Sharks
The New York Islanders have activated forward Simon Holmstrom off injured reserve ahead of their Saturday night game against the San Jose Sharks, per the media site.
The 23-year-old had missed the last seven games after suffering an upper-body injury in their 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Dec. 29. He is a game-time decision, per head coach Patrick Roy, but expected him to play.
With Maxim Tsyplakov suspended three games for an illegal check to the head against Philadelpha Flyers forward Ryan Poehling in Thursday's 5-3 loss, expect Holmstrom to skate on the Islanders' third line alongside Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Casey Cizikas:
#Isles didn’t run lines this morning but would expect these tonight if Holmstrom & Romanov return based on Friday’s skate:
Lee-Horvat-Barzal
Duclair-Nelson-Palmieri
Holmstrom-Pageau-Cizikas
Engvall-MacLean-Gatcomb
Romanov-Dobson
