Yahoo Sports Ipswich Town submits training ground upgrade plan
Ipswich Town Football Club has submitted plans to expand its training centre.
Redevelopment of the Playford Road site would include the creation of a "state-of-the-art" first team building, the Premier League club said.
New areas included in the plans were a hydrotherapy centre, modernised gym and rehabilitation areas for the players.
Work is due to start in 2025 and expected to be completed the following year, ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club said the existing main building at the centre would be extended, refurbished and then used by the academy and women's sides.
A new point of entry would also be created for players, staff and visitors, as well as extra dining space and parking.
Speaking in September 2023, the club's chief executive, Mark Ashton, said a "more professional environment" was needed.
"We need a multi-million pound spend on the facilities at the training ground to bring us up to speed," he said.
