Ipswich Town make contact for Atalanta’s Ben Godfrey
Serie A side Atalanta look keen on selling Ben Godfrey and interest has now emerged from Premier League side Ipswich Town.
Godfrey has spent only about six months at Atalanta, where he has struggled to settle in and has played only once in the Serie A. Question marks have been raised about his suitability to Gian Piero Gasperini’s system.
Tottenham, Wolves and Nottingham Forest have been linked with the Englishman but Alfredo Pedulla has reported that Ipswich Town are also interested in the defender.
In depth talks have taken place and they took place yesterday. There is already an internal approval at the Premier League side about the move for the ex-Everton man and negotiations have now started.
It was reported a couple of days ago that Tottenham have held initial talks for the player and they could put forward a loan deal, but it now seems as if there are multiple clubs interested.
