Inzaghi: "It will be a fantastic match. We'll need one of the best versions of Inter"
APPIANO GENTILE – On Sunday, 10 November at 20:45 CET, Inter will take on Napoli at San Siro in Matchday 12 of Serie A. On the eve of the game, Simone Inzaghi previewed the match in an interview with Inter TV: The victory against Arsenal showed Inter's quality, but now it's time to focus on Napoli. Will it be a different kind of match?
"Tomorrow will be a fantastic match; we're facing the team currently at the top of the league. Conte has given them excellent organisation, they’re a very strong side with a lot of quality. We’ll need one of our best performances to give our all in front of our fans" Napoli are dangerous on the counter and have conceded very few goals away from home. What will be the key to maintaining balance in both phases?
"We’ve been recovering these last few days since Wednesday's match and are preparing well. Napoli have only conceded away in Verona, and we know their strengths" It’s been an intense period for the team. How are you managing your energy, especially against a team that plays at such a high tempo?
"We’re preparing to put on a great performance, working on physical and mental recovery. Now we have one last effort left tomorrow against Napoli. We’ve had some issues with rotation recently due to injuries, but there’s a lot of confidence in the squad"
How important will it be to capitalise on set pieces and control possession to create openings?
"We know that details can make all the difference in these kinds of matches. We’ll need a lot of organisation to ensure nothing slips by" Beating Napoli would put Inter back at the top of the table. Is it psychologically important to be ahead, or is it too early to look at the standings?
"It’s too early to focus on the standings; there are many games still to come. However, we know this match is crucial for our journey and is our last game before the break, so we want to finish on a high, knowing we’re up against a very strong side."
We’ve seen more players stepping up in decisive moments. How important is it to have leaders driving the team?
"I’m very pleased to have a solid group. The boys always work with a smile, and for me, that’s a great sign. I’m lucky to have many leaders in the squad who help me and the staff every day"
