Introducing the 2024 Fort Worth Star-Telegram girls high school soccer All Area Team
The Star-Telegram is announcing Fort Worth All Area teams for high school soccer, baseball and softball throughout the week.
We’re starting things off with the 2024 girls high school soccer All Area Team.
Individual Awards
Player of the Year: Allie Love, Senior forward, Colleyville Heritage
Love scored 27 goals and eight assists, earning the District 7-5A MVP honor. She was also named to the All-State Team and led her squad to the Class 5A state final.
Offensive Player of the Year: Kamdyn Fuller, Sophomore midfielder, Southlake Carroll
Fuller stuffed the stat sheet with 41 goals and 24 assists, leading Southlake Carroll to an undefeated championship run in District 4-6A as a foundation of the Dragon offense.
Defensive Player of the Year: Abby Mills, Senior defender, Southlake Carroll
Mills was named the District 4-6A Defensive Player of the Year and was also a first team All-State selection. The Dragons only allowed 16 goals throughout the season.
Newcomer of the Year: Addison Shimmick, Freshman forward, Colleyville Heritage
Shimmick scored 30 goals and tallied eight assists en route to winning the District 7-5A Offensive MVP in her freshman season. She had 11 goals in the postseason and was named to the All-State second team.
Coach of the Year: Monte Pace, Colleyville Heritage
Pace coached Colleyville Heritage (24-1-2) to the Class 5A state championship, bringing the best out of a team with a mix of veteran leadership and young talent.
ALL-AREA TEAM
Bella Larsen, Junior forward, Flower Mound
▪ 21 goals, District 6-6A Offensive MVP
Aiden Bailey, Sophomore forward, Arlington Heights
▪Scored 26 goals to lead the Yellowjackets to a District 6-5A championship. She was named the District 6-5A MVP
Campbell Cox, Senior forward, Benbrook
▪ Scored 32 goals, powering the Bobcats to the playoffs
Tano Uzezi-Itesa, Junior forward, Byron Nelson
▪22 goals and 15 assists to claim District 4-6A MVP honors
Olivia Belcher, Junior midfielder, Colleyville Heritage
▪ Scored 17 goals and tallied 13 assists en route to making the All-State first team
Hannah Jordan, Junior midfielder, Southlake Carroll
▪ Tallied 29 goals as one of the area leading Dragons’ top offensive players
Journey Curs, Senior midfielder, Burleson Centennial
▪ Curs led the Bobcats’ offense and was named a TASCO All-Star
Ally Weimer, Freshman midfielder, Aledo
▪ Tallied a District 5-5A high 28 goals and 11 assists in a strong debut season with the Bearcats
Katherine Wong, Senior midfielder, Burleson
▪ A versatile player with 21 goals and 11 assists for the Elks
Ella Bushko, Senior defender, Haslet Eaton
▪ First team All-District 4-6A and voted team MVP
Savannah Wylie, Senior defender, Flower Mound Marcus
▪ Brought Marcus to 6A regional final as the leader in a dominant defense
Bri Lilly, Junior defender, Weatherford
▪ The focal point of a defense that allowed nine goals throughout the season. Lilly was named the District 3-6A MVP
Brooklyn Westfall, Junior defender, Arlington Heights
▪ Did not allow a goal in District 6-5A play
Nancy Taylor, Junior goalkeeper, Weatherford
▪ Allowed nine goals and tallied 13 shutouts to lead the Roos to a District 3-6A championship
Juliana Grider, Senior goalkeeper, Colleyville Heritage
▪ Led the Panthers to a state semifinal, posting 12 shutouts
Emery Thompson, Junior utility, Aledo
▪ A versatile player with 10 goals and dominant defense. She has offers from Rice, MIT, Brown and Princeton
Madi Patterson, Sophomore utility, Flower Mound Marcus
▪ 33 goals, leading Marcus to 6A regional finals
Kyla Dawn, Sophomore utility, Duncanville
▪ Scored 52 goals and was named the District 11-6A MVP
Grace Berry, Senior utility, Byron Nelson
▪ Berry, a DBU commit, was named a TASCO All-Star Game MVP
