Inter Milan Vice-President Insists: ‘Inter Among The Three Biggest Teams In Europe’
Inter Milan Vice-President Javier Zanetti feels that the Nerazzurri are “one of the top three teams in Europe.”
Zanetti spoke to YouTuber Ezeequiel, via FCInterNews. He named his team alongside Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Zanetti is now nearly three decades into his association with Inter.
The Argentine spent almost twenty years at the Nerazzurri as a player. For the majority of that time, he wore the captain’s armband.
Zanetti won no shortage of trophies with Inter.
That culminated in the European Treble of the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League in the 2009-10 season.
In 2014, shortly after hanging up his boots, Zanetti became Inter Vice-President.
As had been the case during his playing career, there have certainly been ups and downs for Inter whilst Zanetti has been in his current executive role.
Javier Zanetti: “Inter One Of The Three Biggest Clubs In Europe”
At the moment, Inter are certainly in a phase where they are on the up.
The Nerazzurri reached the Champions League final in the 2022-23 season. Then last time around, they won the Serie A title in dominant fashion.
This campaign, Inter will be hoping that they can fight for both trophies right to the end.
Inter could even try and replicate the Treble feat of 2010.
Nerazzurri Vice-President Zanetti was asked what he considers to be the three biggest teams in Europe.
And Zanetti had no doubts with his reply. “The three biggest teams in Europe are Inter, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich,” he said.
Meanwhile, for South America, Zanetti named three teams from his native Argentine.
He argued that “The three biggest clubs in South America are Independiente, River Plate, and Boca Juniors.”
