Inter Milan & Venezia Working On Defining The Transfer Of Argentina U20 Starlet – Two Possibilities Revealed
Inter Milan youngster Franco Carboni is on the cusp of joining Venezia following a calamitous brief spell at River Plate.
The 21-year-old started his career at Lanus before moving to Italy in 2019 through the gates of Catania.
Following a six-month stint in Sicilia, the Argentine signed for Inter in January 2020, and has been on the club’s books ever since.
The youngster had loan spells at Cagliari, Monza and Ternana over the past two years.
This summer, he made his return to his home country, signing for River Plate on loan until December 2025.
But reported yesterday, his time with the Buenos Aires giants reached a premature end after just over a month.
Carboni had joined the Argentinian club when Martin Demichellis was still in charge. However, the former Man City defender vacated his post, and River Plate replaced him with the returning Marcelo Gallardo.
The new coach doesn’t have the intention to rely on the Inter loanee. He even dropped him from the squad, ringing the alarm bells at Appiano Gentile.
TYC Sport journalist Cesar Luis Merlo is now the latest to confirm the swift breakup between River Plate and Carboni.
He also reveals that the left-back will indeed join Venezia in the coming days.
Inter Milan Youngster Franco Carboni All Set For Venezia
The Argentinian reporter expects Carboni to sign for the Venetians on a one-year deal. However, the exact formula remains uncertain.
Merlo believes it could either be a dry loan or one that includes an option to buy at the end of the season.
Inter and Venezia have already worked together this summer on a couple of transactions. Gaetano Oristanio and Filip Stankovic have both moved from the Nerazzurri to the Lagunari in previous weeks.
Franco Carboni is the older brother of Valentin who has recently joined Marseille on loan from Inter.
