Inter Milan & Venezia On The Verge Of Agreeing Transfer Of Italy U21 Star

Inter Milan and Venezia are on the verge of an agreement for the transfer of attacking midfielder Gaetano Oristanio.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews. He reports that there will be no buyback option for Inter, but that the Nerazzurri will receive a percentage of future resale.

22-year-old attacking midfielder Oristanio spent last season on loan with Cagliari.

The Italy Under-21 international joined the Rossoblu last summer on a season-long loan deal. He was among their reinforcements for Serie A after winning promotion to the top flight.

This followed two seasons that Oristanio had spent in the Netherlands with Volendam.

Oristanio, along with Inter teammate Filip Stankovic helped Volendam win promotion to the Eredivisie, and then stay in the top flight.

Cagliari had the option to make Oristantio’s loan deal into a permanent one.

However, the Sardinians declined to exercise that option. Therefore, this summer Inter have been listening to other offers for the 22-year-old.

And according to Di Marzio, it is a different newly-promoted team who are set to win the race to sign Oristanio this time around. He reports that Venezia are on the verge of securing an agreement.

Inter & Venezia On The Verge Of Agreeing Gaetano Oristanio Deal – No Buyback Option

Inter had been in talks with a few different clubs regarding Oristanio.

This included Genoa. Reportedly, the 22-year-old had been part of the talks between the Nerazzurri and the Grifone for goalkeeper Josep Martinez.

Inter had been considering a cash-plus-player offer for Martinez before instead signing the Spaniard in a straight cash deal.

However, Venezia’s interest in Oristanio meant that he stopped being a part of the negotiations for Martinez.

Therefore, it has been the Venetians who have been negotiating a deal for Oristanio over the last few weeks.

And according to Di Marzio, the deal is now all but done.

The Sky transfer expert report that a key aspect of the negotiations has been Venezia insistence that there not be a buyback option in favour of Inter.

Instead, the newly-promoted side will sign Oristanio on a permanent basis, with no buyback option for the Nerazzurri.

However, Di Marzio reports, Inter will also be entitled to a percentage of any transfer fee that Venezia receive for Oristanio in the future.
