Inter Milan & Venezia Reach Agreement In Principle for USMNT Star But Fiorentina Still In The Fray

Inter Milan and Venezia have reportedly reached a basic accord over the promising young American midfielder Tanner Tessman.

Venezia sporting director Filippo Antonelli arrived at Inter’s headquarters this afternoon to meet his Nerazzurri counterparts.

The two clubs discussed Tessman’s transfer, as well as Gaetano Oristanio who could be heading in the opposite direction, albeit in a separate move.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the two parties managed to reach an agreement in principle over Tessman’s transfer.

As the source explains, the operation now hinges on the player’s will. The USMNT star also has another keen admirer in the shape of Fiorentina.

But as Di Marzio tells it, Venezia prefer to hand him to Inter with whom they have been negotiating for quite some time.

Moreover, the Venetians would like to acquire the services of Oristanio. The 21-year-old will leave Inter this summer once more after spending the previous campaign on loan at Cagliari.

As reported earlier in the day, both players will be moving on a permanent basis.

Moreover, Inter and Venezia could also include Filip Stankovic in their dealings.

The Serbian goalkeeper impressed while on loan last season at Sampdoria. However, he remains surplus to requirements at Simone Inzaghi’s court, especially with Josep Martinez currently finalizing his move to Inter.

Hence, Di Marzio believes Inter could insert Stankovic in the operation to balance the accounts.

As for Tessman, he’s unlikely to remain at Inter next season even if he decides to sign for the Italian champions.

The American is more likely to embark on a loan move to gain further experience. Di Marzio even mentioned a potential temporary spell in the Premier League.

The midfielder has been plying his trade at Venezia since 2021, but his contract will expire next summer.
