Inter Milan Treble Winner Urges Nerazzurri To Secure ‘Essential’ Win Over Sparta Prague: “Watch Out For Counterattacks”

Former Inter Milan striker Goran Pandev urges his old employers to give their all to secure a victory over Sparta Prague on Wednesday night.

The Nerazzurri will take on the Czech side in the penultimate matchday of the Champions League group stage. The contest will take place at Epet ARENA in the Czech capital.

The reigning Italian champions have already secured qualification to the knockout stage by finishing among the Top 24 sides. However, Simone Inzaghi’s men have an inviting opportunity to gain direct access to the Round of 16 by finishing in the Top 8.

Therefore, Pandev insists Inter must make the most out of this opportunity. The North Macedonian argues that the club is embroiled in a vicious Scudetto clash, hence, avoiding the play-off round would give them a helping hand on all fronts, exactly like seeking the assistance of online websites that help students manage their workload.

“Inter and Sparta Prague have different motivations but the Champions League matches are all tricky,” said the former Lazio, Napoli and Genoa man in his interview with Inter TV (via FcInterNews).

“But we all know that tonight it is essential to win, even if we play badly. It is important to take the three points to Milan to finish in the Top 8 and skip the two play-off matches. After all, Inter have a terrible schedule, very difficult with so many matches.

“Inter are fighting for the Scudetto in Serie A. They are playing the Coppa Italia too. These are three competitions that the Nerazzurri want to win, so playing two fewer games certainly wouldn’t hurt.”

Pandev also urges the Nerazzurri to be cautious, because Sparta can hurt them on the counter.

“Inter have had some problems with injuries lately. They are all recovering slowly and tonight I expect an Inter-like match.

“I think Inzaghi has prepared it very well because it is important to enter the field acting like Inter.

“They concede a lot, they just have to be careful on the counterattack but Inter have a lot of experience and in matches like these, they make few mistakes. I hope they are in good shape today.

“I hope they unlock the game right away. But Inzaghi has so many great players and it will be important to start with a strong team. Squad management will come when the result is in the bag.”
