Inter Milan Treble Hero Confident Of Serie A & Champions League Chances: ‘They Can Win In All Competitions’
Legendary former Nerazzurri forward Goran Pandev believes that Inter Milan can win in all competitions this season.
The former North Macedonian international spoke to journalist Gian Luca Rossi, via FCInterNews. He was confident about his former team’s chances in Serie A and the Champions League.
Over the past couple of seasons, Inter have enjoyed a lot of success.
In the 2022-23 campaign, the Nerazzurri reached the final of the Champions League, losing narrowly to Manchester City. Then they won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.
Meanwhile, last time around, Inter won the Serie A title. they did so in fairly dominant fashion.
But in the season that they enjoyed memorable cup runs, Inter were far off the pace in the league.
And then last campaign’s Serie A title triumph was a bit dampened by disappointing early exits in the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
This season, Inter will hope that they can have a strong season on all fronts.
Simone Inzaghi’s team will aim to show that they don’t have to prioritize one competition over the other.
Goran Pandev: “Inter Milan Can Win In All Competitions”
For his part, legendary former Inter, Genoa, and Lazio forward Pandev knows what it’s like to win the lot.
Pandev was part of the Inter team that won the European Treble of the league title, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia in the 2009-10 season.
“Wearing this shirt obligates you to try and win all competitions,” the North Macedonian argued.
“We were a strong team,” Pandev looked back. “We knew what we had to do. Win even if we weren’t playing well.”
“Today’s Inter are a very strong team,” he added. “I think they can win in all three competitions.”
As far as whether following up on last season’s title triumph will be tough, Pandev said that “For me, Inter are the strongest team in Italy.”
“Therefore, they’re the favourites,” he said.
“They have a deep squad. They can go all the way in all competitions.”
“It’s not easy though,” Pandev said. “Because every team they face will give 100% more, everyone wants to beat Inter.”
