Inter Milan Can’t Throw Away Points Anymore – Must Start Serie A Winning Run With Clash Vs Relegation-Battlers Venezia

Inter Milan cannot afford to throw anymore points away in Serie A, and must reassert themselves in the title race against Venezia.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, caution that the Nerazzurri must take the fixture against the relegation-battling Lagunari seriously.

Inter will undoubtedly be seeing this evening’s match against Venezia as the “easy” one of the three they have left before the November international break.

The Nerazzurri take on Arsenal in the Champions League and the Napoli in Serie A in the next week.

Both of those matches could have a decisive impact on Inter’s hopes of silverware this season.

Therefore, there is undoubtedly at least one eye towards the matches to come.

But Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be very wary of what can happen if the team don’t keep their focus and become complacent this evening.

Inter Can’t Afford To Slip Up In Serie A Vs Venezia

Venezia are currently having a very tough time in their first season back in Serie A.

The Venetians would certainly seem to be among the favourites to go straight back down to the second division.

But that will also mean that there is all the more motivation for Venezia. To try and take a surprise result away from the San Siro this evening.

The Lagunari got three massive points against Udinese in a 3-2 thriller in midweek.

And above all, Inzaghi knows that Inter have already thrown away some points this season.

The likes of Genoa and Monza are right in the thick of the relegation scrap along with Venezia. And Inter could only get a draw against both.

Those dropped points are just as significant for Inter’s season as their loss to AC Milan in the derby or their 4-4 draw against Juventus.

And Inzaghi knows his team can’t afford any more of them.
