Inter Milan Starting To Plan For FIFA Club World Cup Trip – Travel Date To USA Revealed
Inter Milan are starting to plan out their trip to the US for next summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the Nerazzurri will depart for the US on June 12th at the latest.
Inter’s Club World Cup campaign is starting to take shape.
The Nerazzurri will take on Monterrey, Urawa Red Diamonds, and finally River Plate in the group stage of the competition, having learned their opponents in the draw this past week.
And Inter’s first match, against Mexican side Monterrey, is scheduled for June 17th.
Inter Plan Out FIFA Club World Cup Excursion To USA
The travel for the Club World Cup will be no mean feat for Inter.
The Nerazzurri are hardly used to playing outside of Europe.
And the Club World Cup will take place in the US. Unlike in Saudi Arabia, where the Nerazzurri have won the last two Supercoppa Italiana trophies, the North American time zones are radically different than Inter are used to.
Moreover, settling in will be a challenge. And it will be crucial for Inter finding their form, energy, and sharpness in their matches.
Therefore, Inter are starting to think carefully about what their “base camp” will look like.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta note, FIFA require that teams arrive at least five days before their opening group stage match in the competition.
Therefore, Inter’s squad will not arrive in the US any later than the 12th.
However, the Nerazzurri could travel even earlier than that, giving themselves time to settle in.
