Inter Milan Star’s Will-He-Or-Won’t-He Transfer Saga With Roma To Drag On Until The End Of January
The transfer saga linking Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi with Roma is likely to drag on right until the end of the January transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908. They report that the 25-year-old could leave to join the Giallorossi at the end of the month.
One thing that is now clear is that midfielder Davide Frattesi wants to leave Inter.
The former Sassuolo man is not happy with his lack of a starting role. The fact that Nicolo Barella started ahead of him against Como last month right after coming back from injury was the last straw.
Therefore, Frattesi’s agent has been working to secure him a move. And it is Roma who are keenest on the Italian international – and in turn, he wants to join the Giallorossi.
Davide Frattesi Roma Transfer Saga To Go Right To The End Of January
At the moment, the Corriere reports, Frattesi and Roma are ready to agree a contract until the end of June 2029.
However, Roma are far from having an agreement in hand with Inter.
The Nerazzurri’s valuation of Frattesi remains high. They want €40-50 million for the 25-year-old.
That’s not stopping Roma from trying to find a way to convince Inter, however.
The Giallorossi have tried offering players, including midfielders Lorenzo Pellegrini and Bryan Cristante. Alternatively, they could sell one of the pair to a different club to raise funds.
In that event, Roma could very well make the decisive move for Frattesi.
In the meantime, Inter are in no rush to sell Frattesi. Injuries to Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have left their midfield depth looking stretched.
And the Nerazzurri also want to have Frattesi in their squad for their two remaining Champions League matches. Roma, meanwhile, have the Europa League to concentrate on.
But at the end of the month, the Corriere report, the Giallorossi could finally make the decisive push.
