Inter Milan President Relives Second Star Triumph: “Extraordinary Emotions, We Broke Every Barrier”
Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta looked back on the exuberant second-star triumph, explaining how it was the fruit of hard work and dedication to the cause.
The Nerazzurri CEO attended an event that displayed a film dedicated to the club’s previous campaign.
This allowed the 67-year-old to relive all the emotions of what was a historic season for the Beneamata, culminating with the club’s 20th Serie A title.
“This is a special moment for me. Seeing this film again evokes extraordinary emotions,” said Marotta via FcInterNews.
“That day sealed the work of a team that has achieved a dream. Winning is something extraordinary, but you win because you deserve to do so.
“The emotion comes from what we have experienced, from days full of tension. I know how we lived for example the eve of April 22nd. Many of us had tense faces.
“This film is something touching for me who loves this sport. We are here to celebrate the second star but we are also to celebrate the heroes of the other scudetto titles.
“For example the eleventh scudetto with Giovanni Invernizzi, from which the journey began up to the twentieth scudetto arrived with Steven Zhang, passing through Ivanhoe Fraizzoli, Ern esto Pellegrini and Massimo Moratti.
“I also remember the coaches. From Eugenio Bersellini to Giovanni Trapattoni up to José Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Simone Inzaghi. They all helped us achieve this goal”.
Beppe Marotta Looks Back On Historic Inter Milan Campaign
The Nerazzurri president insists that the common aspect between all of the club’s winning generations is the passion.
“The common denominator is the passion and hard work of all 176 protagonists of the ten league titles, accompanied by a great work culture. Without motivation, we can’t achieve anything.
“I get emotional every time I watch this film. The adrenaline was so high. Today, I celebrate with all of you, tonight we will celebrate with the team.
“I will also remember April 28th with the 500 thousand who accompanied the bus through the streets of Milan.
“From that evening, I became certain that football can break down every ethnic, cultural and economic barrier.
“I saw many families celebrating together, things that only football and Inter can provide.”
