Inter Milan are reportedly tracking Red Bull Salzburg’s young attacking midfielder Luka Sucic who could become a free agent next summer.

The 21-year-old is an Austrian native from Croatian origins.

He has been playing his football in Austria since the start of his career, but he declared for Croatia on the international level.

The midfielder joined Salzburg’s academy in 2016 and rose through the club’s ranks all the way to the first team.

Last season, Sucic cemented himself as a true pillar for the club. He even featured twice against Inter Milan in the Champions League group stage.

But according to Kicker, the Croatia international will leave Salzburg this summer.

The player’s current deal will expire in the summer of 2025, and there’s no contract extension on the horizon.

Therefore, the Austrian champions will be looking to monetize on the youngster before he leaves for free next summer.

Moreover, the source claims that Inter are courting the Austro-Croatian star.

The Nerazzurri have already signed Mehdi Taremi, Piotr Zielinski and Josep Martinez this summer. They are still in the market hunting for a new left-footed defender.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if the Italian champions will decide to launch an onslaught for another midfielder.

Simone Inzaghi already has a complete midfield department at his disposal, with two solid options for every position.

Nevertheless, the club’s new owners Oaktree Capital believe that investing in youngsters is the right way forward.

Thus, Inter could decide to launch an attempt to sign Sucic and perhaps send him on loan for the upcoming campaign before making room for him next summer.

Sucic played ten matches for the senior Croatian national team, but has yet to score his first international goal.

He primarily plays as a central midfielder, but can also feature in a more advanced role.
