Inter Milan Identify Out-Of-Contract Ligue 1 Striker As Early Tranfer Target For Next Summer
Inter Milan are reportedly making early plans for the summer of 2025 by setting their sights on OGC Nice bomber Jonathan David.
The 24-year-old started his career at Ottawa before joining Belgian side KAA Gent in January 2018.
He soon earned a promotion to the senior team and became a protagonist at the club.
In 2020, the Brooklyn native signed for Lille. Slowly but surely, established himself as one of the most exciting strikers in Ligue 1.
David has already scored 85 goals in 185 appearances for the French club.
However, the player’s contract will expire in June 2025, so he could become a free agent next summer.
According to Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri are already planning to pounce on the opportunity.
As the source notes, Inter have just missed out on signing Albert Gudmundsson who is now finalizing his transfer to Fiorentina.
The Italian champions may not have the financial means to sign a top striker this summer, but they’re happy to wait another year for David.
Inter Milan Setting Plans To Sign Lille Striker Jonathan David On Free Transfer In 2025
Lille president Olivier Letang revealed that the striker has already turned down some offers this season.
The patron thus admitted that the club is unlikely to sell the Canadian late the summer as they won’t have enough time to find a suitable replacement.
The report also claims that David’s connection with Tajon Buchanan would play in Inter’s favor. The two players are international teammates and are almost the same age.
Buchanan signed for the Nerazzurri last January, completing a transfer from Club Brugge.
The versatile winger served as Federico Dimarco’s backup on the left flank. But he returned injured from the Copa America, so he will remain out of action until December or January.
