Inter Milan Coach Praised For Orchestrating ‘Nonchalant’ 4-0 Serie A Win Vs Atalanta
Simone Inzaghi has won praise for Inter Milan’s “nonchalant” performance in their Serie A rout of Atalanta yesterday evening.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, praise the Nerazzurri coach for how his team made the emphatic result look easy.
Inter did not just win against Atalanta.
In their third match of the season, the Nerazzurri managed by far their most emphatic result today.
Having drawn against Genoa and secured a fairly routine victory against Lecce, yesterday Inter took flight.
The second clean sheet in a row was arguably the most important aspect of the performance and result, coming against opposition like Atalanta.
But the aspect of the scoreline that will capture the most attention is the four goals that Inter put past La Dea keeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Inzaghi Praised For “Nonchalant” Inter Rout Vs Atalanta
Inter certainly looked like a well-oiled machine in yesterday’s victory.
The midfield of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Nicolo Barella is now a familiar unit.
As is the trio of Alessandro Bastoni, Francesco Acerbi, and Benjamin Pavard at the back.
Inter covered the spaces well. In possession they always seemed to know where the next pass was.
And meanwhile, out of possession, the Nerazzurri formation did a good job of keeping a fluid Atalanta attack from cutting through them.
This was a testament to the balance of energy and polish to this Inter team.
And moreover, Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation got the best out of his players. Inter did not struggle to move around and interchange positions when the situation called for it.
In the view of Tuttosport, the most impressive aspect was how Inter never really looked as though they were getting out of second gear.
The Nerazzurri looked calm. They did not allow Atalanta to stretch them.
This gave the match a feel of a genuinely “nonchalant” evening for the reigning Serie A champions.
