Inter Milan Captain Declares: “Second Star Was My Biggest Career Thrill, But We Won’t Stop There”
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez recalls the emotions he felt when winning the Serie A title last season. However, he urges the team to aim for more glory.
The Argentine captain celebrated his second Scudetto last term, but his first as club captain.
The 27-year-old also enjoyed a sensational campaign on a personal level. He finished the season as the league’s top goalscorer and won the Serie A MVP Award.
During the premiere of the “Inter, Due Stelle sul Cuore” movie, Lautaro insisted that unlocking Inter’s second star remains his biggest joy at club level.
“This Scudetto was the greatest thrill of my career, at least at club level,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews.
“Then of course, there’s the World Cup I won with Argentina, which for me was a childhood dream that I was able to realize.
“It’s very difficult to choose between them. However, this second star will stay with me forever. And the same goes for my teammates. It’s something special, it’s truly extraordinary.
“This film gives us the chance to relive the emotions we experienced throughout the season. It was a challenging year, but with teamwork, we managed to build something incredible”.

Lautaro picked the decisive win over AC Milan in the Derby as the greatest moment from last season. That victory mathematically sealed the title in favor of Simone Inzaghi’s men.
“If I have to choose one image from the whole year, one moment, it would be at the final whistle of the Derby on April 22nd.
“I wanted to run under the Curva Nord towards our fans. But instead, I couldn’t, because I was overwhelmed by emotion.
“At that moment, many things passed through my mind, the difficult moments experienced together with my teammates and at the same time the satisfaction of having managed to go further. All the hard work paid off, and we are proud”.
Moreover the Argentina international urges his teammates to stay on their toes and achieve more triumphs.
“This Scudetto has been very important for our careers and for the club. But now we must not stop.
“We must continue to win trophies, to take Inter as high as possible.
“Hence, we must have the desire to improve every day, individually and as a group in every aspect. The goal is to always raise the bar.”
