Inter Milan & Argentina Superstar Sums Up Scudetto Winning 2024: “Positive Year”

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez insists 2024 has been positive for him and the Nerazzurri as they reclaimed the Scudetto.

During his latest interview with TyC Sport via FCInterNews, the Argentina international admitted he wants to keep improving amid a stuttering Serie A start.

Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal for La Albiceleste against Peru last night.

It was his second strike in as many international outings this month.

However, while Argentina lost 2-1 at Paraguay last weekend, they saw off Peru 1-0.

In doing so, Lionel Scaloni’s side solidified their place at the top of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying table.

Back-to-back scoring appearances for his national team should bolster Martinez’s confidence.

Indeed, after lifting the Capocannoniere award last season, his form has fallen off a cliff this term.

Martinez has blown hot and cold for Inter, but he hopes to get back on track soon.

In addition to his club success, Martinez helped Argentina defend their Copa America crown in the summer.

“We want to keep improving,” he said after last night’s triumph.

“This year has been very positive, and fortunately, we ended it with a win.

“It was a positive year, spectacular in terms of performance, goals, and games played.

“It’s been positive, but we need to keep playing and improving day by day.”

Martinez also sent a message to Inter fans.

“That’s how my career is – always striving to improve and give my best.

“I’m happy. Today my entire family is here, and I always want to give my best.

“Everyone wants to beat us; the Argentine national team is always in the spotlight.

“There are things to improve, but we need to continue on this path.”

Martinez will soon join Inter’s preparations for the upcoming Serie A match against Hellas Verona.
