Injured Real Madrid star to return vs Leganés
A leading member of the sidelined contingent at La Liga giants Real Madrid is hopeful of returning to the pitch in the club’s first outing following the international break.
That’s according to The Athletic, who point towards Thibaut Courtois as the player in question.
Goalkeeper Courtois has for his part been forced to sit out each of Real Madrid’s last three fixtures across all competitions.
This comes owing to an adductor injury suffered late last month.
Andriy Lunin has since stepped in in place of the Belgian, conceding seven goals across a trio of outings against Barcelona, AC Milan and Osasuna.
And though Lunin was not much to blame for such woes, all of a Blancos persuasion will nevertheless be delighted to hear of Courtois closing on a return.
As per Real insider Mario Cortegana of The Athletic:
‘Courtois is eyeing a return to fitness when Carlo Ancelotti’s side return to action following the international break away at Leganés on November 24.’
