Former TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston had his finest day as a NFL player on Sunday in the Los Angeles’ Chargers regular-season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Johnston caught a career-high 13 passes for 186 yards in the Chargers’ 34-20 win at Las Vegas.

The Chargers needed the win to secure the No. 5 seed in the upcoming playoffs. They will face Houston in the first round of the AFC playoffs next weekend.

Johnston’s 13 receptions came on 14 targets, an incredible 92.85 reception rate, far ahead of his season rate of 54.5 percent (42 of 77).

He had 525 receiving yards in the first 16 games.

He finishes the season with 55 catches for 711 yards. He did not have a touchdown against the Raiders and finished with eight this season.

Johnston was the Chargers’ first-round pick in the 2023 draft, the 21st overall pick.

His previous high was five catches in three different NFL games over his two-year career.

He had 115 catches for 2,190 yards in three seasons for the Horned Frogs. His college best was 14 catches for 206 yards against Kansas on Oct. 8, 2022.
