AN IMPORTANT JANUARY FOR THE ROSSONERE

AN IMPORTANT JANUARY FOR THE ROSSONERE
AN IMPORTANT JANUARY FOR THE ROSSONERE

There could not have been a busier month to usher in the new year for the AC Milan Women's team. January 2025 will see the Rossonere engaged on two important fronts, as the fixtures in Serie A will be mixed with those in the Coppa Italia. The double match against Fiorentina, our historical rival of the last seasons, will see us playing 180 minutes in the space of 12 days to reach the Semi-final like the last five editions.

It will not be at all easy to achieve that goal, however, and not only because the Viola are leading a top league and in recent months have also been regulars in the Women's Champions League. The double match (first at the PUMA House of Football on 16 January, second on the 28th at the Viola Park) will be wedged between three very delicate championship games, decisive to keep alive the Poule Scudetto hope.

NapoliSampdoria and Roma will be the opponents of the month in the women's Serie A, occasions to try to make a difficult comeback over the fifth place occupied by Como, who are four points ahead of us and already have the advantage in our clash. Back in 2024, however, the Rossonere were able to start the year in style, with a series of positive results and advancing in the Coppa Italia against Sassuolo.

So much of our immediate future, then, will come down to day-to-day work at the PUMA House of Football. Coach Bakker's girls resumed training on the morning of Friday 3 January, and will approach the resumption of the official season with a friendly - on Epiphany Day - away against Genoa, a team currently in the running for promotion to Serie A. Forza Milan!
