Important Flyers Forward Has Big Chance

The 2024-25 season has not been kind to Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee. In 42 games, the Syracuse, New York native has six goals, eight assists, and a minus-14 rating. This is after he set career highs with 22 goals, 28 assists, and 50 points just last season.

Due to his struggles, Farabee was a healthy scratch in each of the Flyers' last three games. This was undoubtedly notable, as the 2018 first-round pick is expected to be one of their top forwards.

The Flyers announced that Farabee will be back in the lineup for their contest against the New York Islanders tonight. With this, he now has a golden opportunity to make a big statement with a strong game.

After a player gets scratched, they often have extra motivation once they return to game action. It will be fascinating to see if that is made clear through Farabee's play against the Islanders from here.

Farabee is entering this matchup with zero points in his last five games and just two in his previous 10. We will need to wait if he can break the ice in his return to the Flyers' lineup and prove to the Metropolitan Division club that he deserves to play.
