Cole Palmer played his final game of the season on Sunday night as England came up short against Spain in the final of Euro 2024, but stats have highlighted just how incredible his campaign was.
Palmer arrived at Chelsea on deadline day last summer in a deal worth £42.5m from Manchester City with many supporters not quite sure what to expect.
After impressing in his first few appearances from the bench Palmer soon worked his way into the starting line-up and didn’t look back.
The 22-year-old lit up the Premier League, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists, which saw him named Premier League Young Player of the Year in his first season of playing regular football.
His form saw him make his England debut last November and he was named as part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024.
He made an impact from the bench in Germany as he assisted Ollie Watkins’ last minute winner in the semi final and he also scored the equaliser in the final, but it wasn’t enough to stop England slipping to defeat.

Palmer also picked up a host of individual honours, and he cleaned up at Chelsea’s end of season awards as well as being voted PFA Fans Player of the Year.
All in all Palmer has had an incredible season and he will have a well earned break before trying to repeat or even better his accomplishments from last season.
