'I'll be forever a fan' - Davidson departs City for Brann move

Scotland forward Lauren Davidson has left Glasgow City to sign for Norwegian side SK Brann.

Former City youth player Davidson returned to the club from Hibs in 2020 and become a first-team mainstay, netting 77 goals in 135 appearances.

The 22-year-old won the league title with City in 2021 and 2023 - when she was the SWPL top scorer - and played 12 times in the Women's Champions League, scoring twice.

Announcing her departure, the club said Davidson's "consistent quality, team spirit and heroics under pressure" make her a "City legend".

Davidson said: "From my debut in 2020 to scoring the 92nd-minute league winner at Ibrox, everything in between and everything since, it’s been a rollercoaster, but a time I’ll never forget.

"Over the years I have been lucky enough to work with amazing coaches, players and staff who have helped shape me into the player and person I am today and I have made some friends for life.

"I’ll be a forever fan, supporting the club from afar."

Head coach, and Davidson's former team-mate, Leanne Ross added: "Lauren has played a big part in the success achieved by the club over the years but will always be remembered for her 92nd-minute goal at Ibrox which secured the 2022/23 SWPL title.

"Lauren will be a massive loss to this team but everyone at Glasgow City is proud of the player she has become, and we all wish her the very best of success in her future career."
