Igor Shesterkin Will Miss Time With Undisclosed Injury
The New York Rangers have placed Igor Shesterkin on injured reserve as he reportedly deals with an upper-body injury.
It’s unclear when exactly Shesterkin sustained this apparent injury but he will now miss at least the team’s next three games.
With Shesterkin out, the Rangers have recalled goaltender Louis Domingue from The Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
According to Mollie Walker of The New York Post, Jonathan Quick will get a majority of the starts while Shesterkin is out, and Domingue will likely play in one of the Rangers’ upcoming back-to-back games in Washington and Chicago.
This season, Shesterkin has recorded an 11-15-1 record, 3.10 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
