Ibrahima Konate injury history at Liverpool - UPDATED
Ibrahima Konate’s injury history
Thigh injury (4 games) - 2024
Konate picked up a thigh injury back in March 2024, leaving the pitch early against Sparta Prague. Jurgen Klopp wasn’t 100% sure on the severity after the game (the Athletic).
But it turned out Konate would miss Liverpool hosting Manchester City and he’d be gone for four games in total.
Muscle injury (4 games) - 2023
August 2023 saw the Premier League return but Konate quickly picked up a problem. He missed four fixtures for Liverpool and France with what Jurgen Klopp called a ‘muscle problem’.
Not the first time we’ve heard that.
Hamstring (5 games) - 2023
Konate pulled his hamstring in an FA Cup clash against Brighton back in January 2023. It was enough for him to be ruled out for two to three weeks (per the BBC).
This would be his fourth injury of the campaign - and enough to keep him out for a few games. Fortunately, it would be the last injury of that season.
Knock (10 games) - 2022
This was a more curious injury - it was never announced publicly what it was. Konate missed ten fixtures with this problem but no one really knows what it was.
The Press Association’s Carl Markham simply described it as a ‘knock’.
Muscle problem (4 games) - 2022
Konate missed four games because of a muscle problem in October 2022 (the Athletic), almost certainly related to the knee injury that previously kept him out.
Fortunately, not a long-term one, this.
Knee injury (10 games) - 2022
Konate suffered a knee injury right at the start of his second season at Liverpool. It came after a friendly with Strasbourg, keeping him out of the side for 10 games (the Athletic).
Not the perfect start - but this remains the (joint) longest he’s been out for.
