Hutson Makes Upper Deck's Weekly Game Dated Moments

Every week, card producer Upper Deck releases three brand new cards on their ePack platform as part of their Game Dated Moments set. The Montreal Canadiens have not featured much in the release so far this season thanks to an underwhelming performance.

The one exception was Samuel Montembeault who featured on a card in the first week of the season, thanks to his 48-save shutout against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This week though, a second member of the Canadiens will be added to the set, Upper Deck has decided to commemorate rookie blueliner Lane Hutson's first goal.

The card will be on sale at noon ET on the company's ePack platform and only 1199 copies will be available. While the card is virtual to begin win, it can eventually be shipped to the collector's home once physically produced.

Because Upper Deck likes a good chase, there will also be a gold version limited to just 100 copies. That one cannot be bought, if you luck out when you buy the standard version, you'll get the gold version instead when you open your virtual pack.

While this is the first time Hutson features in the Game Day Moment set, it most certainly won't be the last one. The set also features Rookie of the Month cards which he could eventually be featured on. So far this season, San Jose Sharks Macklin Celebrini was featured on the November one while Philadelphia Flyers' Matvei Michkov was on the October release.

There is also a rookie base set which has so far featured New Jersey Devils' Seamus Casey, Sharks' Will Smith and the above mentioned Celebrini and Michkov. It's a shame the card manufacture didn't deem it necessary to make a card to commemorate Hutson beating a franchise record that hadn't been touched in nearly 40 years, but there are 31 other teams in the NHL and no shortage of memorable moments.
