Hurricanes Pull Off Blockbuster, Acquire Caden Price From The Rockets

The Lethbridge Hurricanes made a splash on Monday night, acquiring Seattle Kraken prospect Caden Price from the Kelowna Rockets. In return, the Rockets received defenceman Will Sharpe, goaltender Harrison Boettiger, a first-round pick (2026), a conditional fourth-round pick (2025), a fourth-round pick (2026), a fifth-round pick (2027), and a sixth-round pick (2025). Price is the third NHL-drafted prospect the Hurricanes have traded for this season, joining Winnipeg Jets' Brayden Yager and Vegas Golden Knights' Jordan Gustafson.

Price is having a strong season and has already recorded 32 points through 27 games. The left-shot defenceman recently returned from the World Juniors, where he skated in all five of Team Canada's games. Drafted 84th overall by Seattle in 2023, Price has 201 regular season WHL games under his belt and leaves the Rockets as the seventh-highest-scoring defender in franchise history.

As for Kelowna, they are getting some exciting players that should help their 2026 Memorial Cup run. Sharpe is a left-shot 17-year-old defenceman who has 27 points in 35 games, while Boettiger is currently playing with the US National Development Team. Sharpe is expected to join the team right away and should have an impact both at five-on-five and on special teams.
