Hummels on the challenges awaiting Roma vs Frankfurt
Roma defender Mats Hummels joined Claudio Ranieri in today’s pre-match press conference.
The German veteran discussed the challenges awaiting the Giallorossi in their upcoming Europa League fixture with Eintracht Frankfurt.
“I know Eintracht well, many players are my friends. It’s no surprise what they are doing in the Bundesliga.”
“They are a strong team,” he added.
“I often speak with some Eintracht players, but we haven’t talked about the game. It’s a pleasure to combine friendship and sport. I am happy to play tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow will be a final. We also have to see how the other teams will position themselves. We are playing at home and this factor must help us.”
“We are making constant progress. Since Ranieri arrived we have shown that we have started to make improvements.”
“We have achieved positive results away from home, we must maintain this process of continuity.”
“I understand Italian quite well even if I don’t feel like answering yet, we understand each other on the pitch. The future? There are also some private matters at stake, there is time to make decisions.”
“I think we have a good team. I am hopeful and optimistic about what I am seeing.”
“This team has players who can play anywhere, in any club in the world. If I said I can see us finishing above Lazio or winning the Europa League it’s because I believe it.”
