Hull City winning race for Barry

Hull City are in line to sign Aston Villa forward Louie Barry on loan, BBC Radio Humberside report.

Barry spent the first half of the season on loan at Stockport County where he scored 15 goals in League One before being recalled by Villa at the start of this month.

Barry also spent last season with Stockport, scoring nine goals as they were promoted from League Two.

In a statement at the time of his recall Aston Villa said they would 'assess' the striker before deciding their next move, with numerous other Championship clubs including Leeds United and Middlesbrough linked to the striker.

It is believed the 21-year-old will undergo a medical with a view to spending the remainder of the season on loan with Hull City as they battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.
