Hulk Hogan didn’t get the welcome he might have hoped for during his appearance on the Netflix debut of WWE Raw on Monday.

Hogan, who fawned over Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential race and joked about body-slamming Kamala Harris, emerged to his famous walk-out song “Real American” at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. But as he gingerly gestured to the crowd for more energy, the 71-year-old was met by jeers and boos.

The entrance, about two-and-a-half hours into the show, saw Hogan plug his Real American Beer brand and congratulate the WWE for its collaboration with streaming giant Netflix.

“In the past, I’ve had a whole bunch of partners down the line,” Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, said. “I had incredible partners, like the Macho Man Randy Savage. I’ve had giant-sized partners like Andre the Giant. But the greatest partner the WWE has ever had, is the fact that tonight, we’re making history, and the WWE has tag teamed up with Netflix, the greatest tag team partner of all time.”

It seemed that some fans were irked by the commercial bent to his arrival.

“Watching Hulk Hogan get annihilated with boos while trying to sell his ripoff Bud Light beer was effing IN-CREDIBLE. And I grew up a Hulkamaniac,” one wrestling fan wrote on X, in a post viewed over 235,000 times.

“The crowd ultimately dictates the story and Hulkamania is dead, killed by Terry Bollea.”

Another viewer wrote: “The immortal Hulk Hogan has arrived. The Crowd is booing him out of the building. NAAAHHH THIS IS INSANE.”

Not everyone was pleased to see the wrestling legend.

Hulk’s appearance comes after a rocky patch with the WWE. In 2015 the organization terminated his contract after a tape emerged of him using a racist slur.

During the 2024 presidential race, Hogan threw his weight behind the eventual winner.

In late October, he was accused of making a boorish oral sex joke about Harris when he made a spitting gesture towards the floor during Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden.

In August, Hogan asked a crowded bar if he should wrestle Harris. At an event promoting his beer brand in Ohio, he took to the stage to hype up the crowd. “Want me to body slam Kamala Harris? I said, do you want me to body slam Kamala Harris? Want me to drop the leg on Kamala?” Hogan said in a video shared by TMZ.

Hogan even suggested that Trump might give him a position in his new administration during a Fox News interview in November. “My president said, ‘You know something, you’d be great to run the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,’” Hogan claimed Trump had told him.
