Currently preparing for the impending departure of star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Antonio Conte is keen to have a successor lined up to instantly be integrated into the squad.

Alas, the Napoli boss has set his sights on Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho

Their interest comes just days after it was revealed by David Ornstein that the Argentine livewire and his fellow young prospect Kobbie Mainoo were no longer considered unsellable by the club, with INEOS actively trying to create more room for manoeuvre around the league’s financial restrictions.

Now, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims the Serie A leaders have submitted a package offer of €45 million (£37.8m) to try and get a deal over the line as swiftly as possible. United, on the other hand, are demanding a fee as close to £60m as they can get.

United’s stance on Garnacho amid Napoli interest

It’s thought that the Red Devils won’t stand in Garnacho’s way if he is adamant about plying his trade elsewhere amid reports that he is growing ‘frustrated’ with his recent fall in the pecking order under Ruben Amorim.

However, you can’t imagine they’d be actively pushing for his sale either, as losing the 20-year-old as well as Marcus Rashford in one transfer window would leave Amorim with too few options for the second half of the campaign.

Even if United were able to generate the funds to make a permanent signing this month, a natural left wing-back would presumably be deemed a top priority over a winger.

Pedulla’s report adds that Juventus have also established their interest in Garnacho but accept that a move in the summer would be more plausible than mid-season. The Old Lady remains monitoring Rashford’s situation, along with AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
