Huddersfield sign forward Taylor from Luton

Huddersfield Town have signed forward Joe Taylor from Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has agreed a contract until the summer of 2029.

Taylor joined Luton from Peterborough United for a substantial fee in January 2023 but made only one league start for the Championship club.

"The ambition of the club was really attractive to me, and after speaking to the sporting director and head coach, I was left with no doubt in my mind about the decision I wanted to make," Taylor told the Huddersfield club website.

Although never scoring for the Hatters in open play, he was on target in the penalty shoot-out when they beat Coventry City in the Championship play-off final in May 2023.

Last season he had loan spells with Colchester United in League Two where he netted 11 goals in 25 starts and then at Lincoln City where he played 19 games in League One, scoring 10 times.

"The way he completed last season on loan with Lincoln City at this level right at the top of the league speaks to his character and will to succeed, and those are values we want to see in our players - you can never have too many winners in your group," said Terriers boss Michael Duff.
