Huddersfield Town have announced the permanent signing of Ruben Roosken from Dutch side Heracles Alemlo for an undisclosed fee.

Roosken, 24, has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Terriers having played 15 Eredivisie matches for Heracles this season.

The defender won promotion to the Dutch top-flight with Heracles in 2023 after his move from TOP Oss in 2021.

"We've made no secret of the areas of the pitch we felt needed to be addressed, so to have a top quality addition at the first possible opportunity is a huge bonus," Terriers boss Michael Duff told the club website.

Primarily a left wing-back, Roosken will wear the number 26 shirt at the John Smith's Stadium and his move will officially be completed on 1 January when the transfer window opens.

"This feels like the correct move for me and my career. I am an ambitious player and person and I felt that same passion to succeed from everyone I spoke to before signing," Roosken said.
