Rachel Homan and her Ottawa-based team of Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes captured gold at the women's curling world championship on Sunday in Sydney, N.S.

Homan's rink delivered Canada's first curling world title since 2018 with a 7-5 win over four-time defending champion Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland.

Homan, a four-time Scotties champion, also won the title with Miskew in 2017.

More to come.
