Hollyoaks Favourites to air special John Paul McQueen and Craig Dean week

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks has confirmed which memorable storyline it's going to revisit in next week's Hollyoaks Favourites line-up.

To make up for the dwindling amount of new material brought on by coronavirus-related production halts, the long-running Channel 4 soap has been airing classic episodes towards the end of each working week.

Now, ahead of the series set to kick off on Wednesday June 17, the soap has revealed it's going to look back on John Paul McQueen and Craig Dean's romance.

The first instalment, which was first broadcast in 2007, sees John Paul (James Sutton) and Craig Dean (Guy Burnet) have sex for the first time.

Elsewhere in the episode, Craig's brother Jake is left worrying about his girlfriend Nancy after discovering she's run out of prescription pills. His fears soon escalate, too, when he asks her to babysit his son Charlie but soon comes to regret the request...

The second episode, which will air the following evening, sees John Paul find out that Craig has proposed to partner Sarah Barnes. Despite feeling betrayed, John Paul and Craig hook up again, upstairs at The Dog while the latter's engagement party wages on below.

Finally, the third outing will see the boys' affair exposed, after Sarah walks in on her new fiancé and his secret lover. As she physically lashes out at John Paul, Craig is forced to restrain her.

Later, Craig's mother Frankie voices her disappointment in her son, and accuses John Paul of corrupting him – an insinuation that John Paul's sister Mercedes doesn't take too well, as she quits her job in support of her brother.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 will feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites to compensate for the soap suspending filming.
