Hockey Hall Of Fame Names Kraken GM To Selection Committee.
Toronto, On - Lanny McDonald, Chair of the Hockey Hall of Fame Board, announced on Tuesday the new appointments to the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, confirmed at the annual Directors' meeting in Toronto.
Seattle Kraken GM Ron Francis will replace Mike Gartner as Chair of the Selection Committee in June 2025, with Gartner transitioning to Chair of the Board. Francis (HHOF '07) spent 23 years with the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes, ranking second on the NHL’s all-time assist list and winning two Stanley Cups. The Hurricanes retired his No. 10 jersey in 2006, and he served in various roles before becoming GM in 2014. Since 2019, Francis has been Executive Vice President and GM of the Seattle Kraken..
