Yahoo Sports Many Charlotte-area high school football games are moving to Thursday. Here’s why
Tropical Storm Francine is expected to pick up strength in the Gulf of Mexico and become a hurricane on Wednesday, when it’s forecast to make landfall in Louisiana.
As the storm moves onto the U.S. mainland, it is expected to bring some rainfall to the Carolinas on Friday. Some forecasts have waves of rain coming into the area Friday and possibly worsening on Saturday.
Because of that, a number of Charlotte-area high school football games are moving to Thursday. As of Tuesday evening, nearly 20 games have been moved, including games involving two Mecklenburg County teams — East Mecklenburg and Community School of Davidson.
